Velocity and s.art

Hello, i am a dutch yamaha fan. Just start with a topic and a question. I am struggling to find out the ( should be available) using a pedal to activate them is my best option. Getting sounds like tapping on a guitar body are easily to hear. But what about other articulations. For instance i cannot get a legato sound out of brass or woodwind voices. Downloaded the data sheet but this only marks a voice as  
so i am curious to find out how to activate
