Tech help needed

1 week 3 days ago
#76
Two tech questions:
1 Can I create a registration (or better yet an assignable button) that will simultaneously change the upper octave and turn a part off or on? I don't want it to make any other changes; the voice, style, etc. all have to remain the same. If yes, I may need detailed instructions.
2 Is it safe to assume registrations made on a Genos1 can be used on an SX900 assuming they only point to voices, styles, and features common to both instruments?
THANKS for any help available!

Paul,
Set your keyboard the way you want it and save it to Registration #1, then change your upper octave and turn off the part you don't want and save it as Registration #2.

Thanks for responding, but I'm not sure what I want to do is that 'm starting with registration 27 (which is entirely different than registration 2) and just want to change the octave and turn on voice 3. I still want 27 or whatever registration I started with to stay intact on all other settings. I know I can select the items to be registered, and I can even freeze some parts, but I'm not sure what settings to pick. For example, if I set a registration to not save voice items (because I don't any voices to actually change) then I suspect it would also not save the updated voice on or off settings. I fear what I'd like to do might not be , if I could set an assignable button to the upper octave setting and an adjacent button to the part on or off button, then I could at least quickly and easily make the change with one hand while continuing to play with the other. I think that is possible, but I haven't figured it out yet.I hope I was able to explain it !

Paul,
I think you are confusing Styles with Registrations. There is no Registration 27, Genos only goes to 10 possibilities. A Registration can contain a Style in it. Set the keyboard the way you want it. Hit the Registration Memory button. on the screen that pops up check off all the boxes to memorize everything, then click on Registration button #1. Now make the changes you want to make with octave and turning a part off. Hit the Memory button again and this time keeping all the boxes checked on the pop up window select Registration #2. This will save everything you want. Now save that Registration with a name to reflect the song you are playing.

By Registration 27, I mean bank 2 registration 7.

Paul,

Just follow the directions above. It's really easy.
